UCLA Health is the first medical system in the Western US to offer a Mobile Stroke Unit (MSU). Staffed by a Stroke Neurologist, Critical Care Transport Nurse, CT Technician, and Paramedic, this unit responds to 911 calls to deliver lifesaving thrombolytics in the case of an ischemic stroke. This has greatly helped patients during the "golden hour" of stroke care, and has been proven to double the odds of excellent clinical outcome without increased risk compared with later treatment.

These mobile stroke units have the capability to respond throughout their respective service areas, bringing the powerful diagnostic capability of a CT scanner to the patient. These MSU's are often dispatched alongside other Fire & EMS units to assist with other aspects of the call. The Stroke Neurologist Response Units (NRU), while fictional in this case, have the ability to supplement the response area of the MSUs by providing greater coverage throughout San Andreas where specialized neurologists may not be accessible.

The slight differences seen between the textures for UCLA and ULSA Health (Lore Friendly) vary from the license plates which display either California or San Andreas exempt plates, to the foundation which funded each of the units (The Marlowe Health Foundation is based off of the philanthropy of the Marlowe Vineyards in Northern Los Santos County), to the relevant fire departments that staff and assist the MSU (Del Perro Fire Department was chosen as the main department as is most closely resembles Santa Monica Fire Department, but the other departments listed are Los Santos County Fire, Blaine County Fire, Sandy Shores Fire, Davis Fire, and Los Santos City Fire).
