In 2017, Los Santos County Fire Department (LSCoFD) recently expanded its coverage along the western coastline of San Andreas by absorbing the former Chumash Fire Department. Much like the real-world example of Hermosa Beach Fire’s integration into Los Angeles County Fire, this transition ensured that residents of Chumash and surrounding areas now benefit from the broader resources, training, and advanced services of LSCoFD.
As part of the transition, the apparatuses once belonging to Chumash Fire were officially reassigned into the LSCoFD fleet at the new Station 99. In keeping with tradition and community recognition, these units retained their distinctive liveries and identifiers, much as Hermosa Beach rigs did after joining LACoFD. This preserved the local identity of Chumash Fire while integrating the equipment into the countywide system, ensuring a continuation of service for the community. With this consolidation, LSCoFD not only increased its operational footprint but also added depth to its coastal fire and EMS capabilities.
Since LSCoFD does not operate their own ambulances, the ambulance was reclassified as a "Medic Aid" to better define its role. Mostly serving as a BLS transport unit staffed by EMTs, this allows for LSCoFD Paramedics on Engine 99 to assess patients and assist with transport when necessary.
